Advent Poem from Aotearoa (New Zealand)

Each year Beverley Osborn of New Zealand writes an Advent poem. She has shared her poem for 2013.stock-footage-hd-seamless-loop-with-bethlehem-christmas-star-twinkling-stars-and-moving-wispy-clouds-in-purpleSometimes in our lives, there are nights
in which we long for light —
nights of pain, of fear, of grief,
of despair that the love of wealth and power,
worldwide, is swallowing care
and kindness and justice

But one small star
sheds light in even the deepest darkness.
The Christmas star of hope
reminds us that the birth
of a single, tiny baby, long, long ago,
changed the world forever.

Hope is the pathway of light
to love and peace and joy.
Cherish each star.
