God, spin a dreidel in my life.
Roll for me gimmel
when I need to take all the joy
that’s on the table,
and roll for me shin,
when I can afford to give it away.
Spin hey,
mostly life is half and half.
And give me a turn at nun —
I need to sit back
and not always play the game.
I need to sit back
and just enjoy oil enough –
for latkes and
doughnuts,
and light in all the world
I need to remember –
a great miracle occurred here.
