SOS Village in Zimbabwe — Amani Milele (Peace Forever)

Lance and Christina Muteyo conducted one day Conflict Transformation training at SOS Children’s Village Harare Zimbabwe on the third of October. Christina and Lance are both child counsellors with a passion towards helping orphaned and other vulnerable children in Africa. As the Training and Advocacy Director of the Pan African Peace Network (PAP-NET)Lance so often travels all across Africa and it is wonderful to see him at home.

He writes, “SOS Children’s village believes that it takes a village to raise a child. Therefore they work in partnership with the community through volunteerism of services. It is in this regard that we volunteered our skills through your support, prayers and guidance. We managed to train 25 teenagers to become responsible young adults in helping themselves and their peers. Plans are underway for us to conduct six weeks of workshops on Saturdays with the kids. Keep praying for us in this divine calling.”

In a world where it seems the various media sources are tripping over each other to be the first to tell us about another mass shooting at this cinema, or that university campus, or some other mall, why is it only here in this blog that we learn about a couple who are doing something vital to avoid further bloodshed? Many, many blessings upon Lance and Christina Muteyo, and may Creator strengthen them to continue.

They are a blessing and thank you for your kind words about the blog.

  3. Maren without your telling of the good stories of those living the gospel I would be so uninformed. I had no idea about this and am inspired. Thank you
