Prayer for the Peace Process in Colombia

I am grateful to Jose Luis Casal for sharing this prayer and for inviting the world to pray for Colombia. thanks as well to Katie Fiegenbaum for giving a translation so quickly.

Story of wishes and meetings
(Dedicated to the peace process in Colombia)

When anger turns to blood,
hope is born.
When history turns to verse,
a dream is born.
When we tire of counting the years,
the new (what is new) is born.
When men and women gamble/toy with wishes/desires,
the words are born.

And from that rage…history…years…and men…
Rises up the blood, the verse,
the stories and the words
in those who make their nest in hope,
who create the dreams,
who grow the possibility of newness and the words
cultivate history.

After years upon years,
deaths upon death
and anguish on top of anguish…
When one tires of living life the same way
He is resurrected…
and peace begins to dawn.
