Not just a day, but a season. Yes, some of us are back in Ordinary time and green hangings, but the light of revelation is an ongoing blessing in these prayers by Catherine Smith. they were a wonderful gift to me. Please take a look at her blog which you will find here.
Arise, lift up your hearts and shine,
for God’s brightness is covering us.
God, holding out to us Gifts,
gifts of the Star-child:
courage for love and for wonder
hope in the sightless places
Holy presence in suffering and joy.
God’s brightness is covering us.
We hold out our hearts like cups
to catch the stars.
God cuts the wild star from the cloth of the night,
letting the light shine through.
The shape of light held by the edges of dark,
The light we did not expect,
risky and saving and wondrous.
God cuts the wild star from the cloth of the night
beckoning us home to our life
by another way.
