What happens to dreamers deported?
Do they pack up
all their incredible gifts
and take them to a more welcoming place?
Or weep for their families
and the only homes they’ve ever known?
Do they stand symbol to all Americans
of what is rotten, broken, lost
in this country?
or are they used
for the political agendas
only sweet to others?
Maybe their dreams
will keep us awake at night.
Or show us the light?
