In Remembrance of Her Mark 14: 3-9

After Jesus said it …

about the woman who broke the jar
(you are what you break),
and poured the ointment on his head
(you are what you pour),
and wasted her most precious thing
(you are what you give),
and showed her love to one who would die,
(you are whom you hospice)
and lived fully her one small part –
you are a teller of your own Good News,

After Jesus said — what she has done
will be told in remembrance of her,

he knew she’d given him some ideas
that many people
in many years to come
would use to tell the story
of this long, long week.

She did what she had the power to do – the power of love available to each of us
