Prayer for Milwaukee

God, we pray for those who lost a friend,
a family member, a colleague —
someone, who silenced the alarm clock
woke-up, ate breakfast,
said good-bye,

and went to work
at Molson Coors Brewery
and was shot to death.

We are at Ash Wednesday,
but you have wrapped them in Easter.

We are wearing ashes, ashes,
but, until we learn to control the guns,

we will all fall down.
