Two orchids sit on my kitchen table
and I’m keeping watch over their life,
encouraging them to be patient,
to extend their roots,
to grow new leaves,
to wait for the blooms,
to trust the process.

God of Advent, you who never tire
of keeping watch over our lives,
teach us to honor your image in us
by looking after each other
and protecting your creation,
so that the whole world can see
glimmers of your light
and live with holy expectation.

a echar nuevas hojas,

YES! I love gifts in open hands. I use them many times for devotional material with my COP group. I read this one yesterday. It is a beauty. Which also reminds me, I have neglected my orchid plant. I hope I can revive it.
