For those who dwell in Perth
and in the Peel and South west regions,
we pray for safety
that God will help them
in the snare of the wildfires
and from the pestilence of Covid.
We pray for millions under a lockdown
to preserve them from infection
who must now leave their homes,
and even lose their homes,
businesses, land,
to bushfire,
tentatively moving to shelters.
We pray for firefighters,
risking so much to control the blaze,
residents not impacted
who are opening their homes,
and people just trying to cope
with too much fear at one time.,
may they abide under the shadow
of your holy wings of peace.
